Akira Yamaoka – Silent Hill
While Silent Hill 2 has the far more beautiful soundtrack, Silent Hill 1 sounds like a an industrial plants worst nightmare. It’s full of screeches, drones, lonely howls, and it heaves with rusty, raspy breaths.
True story: I used to put this CD in my discman when I was in high school and listen to it as I read before going to sleep. Often, I would unknowingly fall asleep with the music still playing (and I made sure it was on ‘Repeat’) and I would sleep the whole night listening to this soundtrack. Made for some interesting dreams, I tells ya!
