Oh poor, poor Chilton. Bryan Fuller said he was going to do something bad to Chilton every season, but if this is what he subjected him to in Season 3, I would love to know what he would have done to him in Season 4. Of course, Chilton’s fate actually befalls Freddie Lounds in the novel, but Fuller didn’t want to see this happen to a woman.
That dark sense of humor I mentioned earlier rears it’s head again when Dollarhyde sends Hannibal Chilton’s lips, one of which Hannibal promptly eats.
