Jason Voorhees and the Friday the 13th franchise have a long, storied history that spans over 35 years now. When Sean S. Cunningham began developing the initial film in 1979, there’s no way he could have known the legacy that it would ultimately birth. Since then, the franchise has had numerous ups and downs. Plenty of false starts and almosts, as well as numerous instances of blind luck when it needed it most.
We could discuss some of the various alternate versions of existing films or a few almost-mades. Freddy vs. Jason, for instance, came close to being made so many damn times in the 1990s. Fans have a handful of books, numerous websites, and even a few documentaries from which they can discover such information, however. So, in an effort to be different and have some fun, I have concocted (with the help of my friend Troy of AndersonVision) an entertaining list of faux unmade films from the Friday the 13th franchise!
