Netflix is famous for their sometimes incorrect movie plot descriptions. Even when those plot descriptions are correct, they can still come off as cheesy, misleading or just plain dumb. We decided to compile a list of some of the funniest ones and have included them below!
Curse of Chucky
“What in the freckled hell” should have been the tagline for this movie. I’m just saying. Technically, the little “monster” is back out of the cardboard box.
Faces in the Crowd
This is a very stupid summary, much like the movie it is describing. Seriously, it’s awful. Don’t watch it.
Honeymoon
Honeymoon is about aliens. There are no ghosts in this movie. I suppose you could argue that the aliens are haunting the cabin, but that’s a bit of a stretch.
Oculus
I’m pretty sure every character in the movie is looking in the mirror from one side. Just to be clear, no one ever enters the mirror in this movie. They are all looking at it from one side.
Open Water 2: Adrift
Really? We’re going to completely rip off the Alien tagline? Alright.
The Pact
This is a nice, creepy little movie that is completely undersold by this tagline. It just sounds so silly! If you read it in the voice of the Honest Trailer guy, it sounds even worse.
Scream 2
First of all, “Guess who tags along with them” should have a question mark at the end of it, not a period. Also, the GPA thing has nothing to do with this movie.
The Factory
This summary sounds like it’s for a Nicholas Cage or Sylvester Stallone movie, except it stars John Cusack. Also, it’s a terrible movie.
The Houses October Built
What if, in the end, they didn’t get exactly what they came for and they all just went home without having been scared?
Venom
Venom is a movie about a man who becomes possessed by the spirits of a bunch of serial killers after is is bitten by a bunch of snakes. I get that the plot summary can’t give away the whole movie but this is ridiculous. It makes it sound like a creature feature!
