Okay, so I’m definitely breaking the rules with this one but I’m still lethargic after a huge Thanksgiving dinner and I feel that this fits well enough into the parameters that I’m okay with it. Therefore, let’s highlight the fantastic scene from Tim Burton’s 1988 supernatural horror comedy Beetlejuice.
For those of you who haven’t seen the film (shame on you), let me break it down for you: The Deetz family has invited some folk over for dinner. After Lydia (Winona Ryder) brings up the fact that she’s seen some ghosts, things start getting a bit batty as everyone, except Lydia, becomes possessed and begins to partake in a choreographed song and dance to Henry Belafonte’s “Day-Oh”. While it definitely convinced the Deetz family that their house is haunted, it didn’t have quite the effect that Adam and Barbara Maitland, the haunters, quite hoped for.
