Ragnar is back for another round of Horror Trip and this time he’s going for your flesh! While the other episodes of Horror Trip have focused on threats from the outside, this video does the opposite, heading inward to the threats that change us physically, creating something terrifying and monstrous that is amplified by our own hubris, our own demons.
For this episode of Horror Trip, Ragnar dives into the world of “body horror”, a type of horror seen in the films like Slither, Tetsuo: Iron Man, and the many works of David Cronenberg. These are movies where we are forced to see humanity itself break down, often violently and in a truly disgusting fashion.
By analyzing the concepts and bringing forth the notion of “The Uncanny Valley”, Ragnar goes into precisely what makes these films so disturbing and unsettling for viewers.
As always, we love hearing your input! Leave a comment if there’s a specific topic that you’d like Ragnar to investigate.
