Village of the Damned – Resident Evil 4
Video game players everywhere were in for a rude awakening in the opening moments of Resident Evil 4. Gone were the tank controls of games past (though you still couldn’t shoot while moving) and the standard T-Virus enemies. This time you were forced to face an entire village of Las Plagas-infested villagers. There were too many to face all at once, so you had to use your surroundings to evade the villagers until the bell tolled. To make things worse, one of these villagers wielded a chainsaw (you can see him at 2:15 in the video below). The first village attack set the stage for the game to come, and it’s still one of the most difficult (and terrifying) sequences in Resident Evil history.
