Not a well known movie, but the finger flaying in last year’s Luna de Miel gave me chills; slow, deliberate and methodical. And of course, no anaesthetic, because… well… that’s what you get for not being nice.

I agree with most of this list and then comes Bite. I was so excited for it and then I watched it. None of the special effects hit for me and honestly they mostly looked like bath tub pearls everywhere. Truthfully I rather despise that film.

My favorite horror scenes from 2016 were without question the boy Harvey Scrimshaw dying in ‘The VVitch’ and the demon reveal in ‘The Wailing’. However, I wouldn’t call them the most disturbing scenes in 2016. I think that distinction would go to ‘The Eyes of My Mother’ when she steals the baby and turns her mother into her pet. That was so disturbing that I had to shut the movie off for a while because I started getting sweaty… <-D

the final shot of The Invitation gave me chills, the wave scene in The Shallows, The Neon Demon’s final scene and entire movie tbh. overall a very good year for horror.

i haven’t seen many of these but i wholeheartedly agree with GREEN ROOM (his destroyed arm!!! OMFG!). i only just watched THE INVITATION for the first time the other night and it’s stayed in my head since i watched it. i knew something was up with the party’s hosts but then wasn’t sure but then was suspicious again then wasn’t etc. when the shit hits the fan i was like HOLY FUCK! very good movie!
i thought the spider scene in BASKIN was a more shocking moment than the rape was (but i guess both moments are not pleasant). lol. i’m going to try and watch THE WITCH tonight so i’ve avoided any and all spoilers for that film.
the scene in IN THE DEEP where the shark SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS violently swims by and bites/swims away with Claire Holt’s character in it’s mouth is a moment i still can’t get out of my head.

I thought the sex scene with the murderer from eyes of my mother was much more effective than the Baskin sex scene. Baskin was epic till the end. The shock value really did seemed forced and this is coming from A Serbian Film’s #1 fan!!!

I would put The Witch #1 but The Wailing it’s such a good flick that I can’t complain.

Also the scene in Emelie where she shows the sex tape to the children, I tought it was a lot more uncomfortable xD. In Green room the part where the girl uses a boxcutter to cut the abdomen of the guy gave me chills too, I didn’t see it coming.
