Top 10 Sci-fi/Horror Films By From Ashes To New
Lancaster, PA rap/alt-metal band From Ashes To New are riding high on the release of their EP Downfall, which came out earlier this year (iTunes). And now they want to show you readers that they can hang with the horror crowd!
To do this, they’ve sent guitarist/vocalist Branden “Boo” Kreider to submit his top 10 sci-fi/horror films, which include some of the most solid films that these two genres have to offer. Check out this list below!
The band will be playing Dirt Fest on August 8th and will also be touring with Five Finger Death Punch, Papa Roach, and In This Moment this fall. All tour dates can be found here.
Spider One (Bury the Bride, Little Bites) is back in the director’s chair for this year’s Big Baby, a meta slasher that sees Brandon Scott (Dead to Me) puppeteering slasher kills in our exclusive teaser debut.
Brainstorm Media will release the film on VOD on August 7, 2026.
In the upcoming slasher, “A nightmare involving a maniac killer in a baby mask serves as inspiration for horror screenwriter Adam Lewis’s new script. As more nightmares, visions, and real life terror begin to challenge Adam’s sanity, he finds himself in a desperate struggle to control his writing, his reality, and who will be Big Baby’s next victim.”

Written and directed by Spider One, Big Baby is executive produced by pop icon Cher, Chaz Bono, Tyler Connolly, Wendy Berry, and Terry Poor.
