Yesterday we broke the news that Travis Z’s Cabin Fever remake will be releasing in limited theaters and on Digital HD February 12th, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

We also shared the above first image from the redo of Eli Roth’s 2002 film of the same name, this time starring Gage Golightly, Matthew Daddario, Samuel Davis, Nadine Crocker, and Dustin Ingram.

In this exclusive new shot, the fever has entered the cabin’s door, and the teens look mortified. They should be. The last time this happened Cerina Vincent shaved the skin completely off her leg.

“Cabin Fever follows a group of five college graduates who rent a cabin in the woods. Soon, all hell breaks loose, as the group falls victim to a flesh-eating virus that attracts the unwanted attention of the homicidal locals.

IFC Midnight is behind the new Cabin Fever, which is a near word-for-word remake; Travis Z’s take is from a screenplay by Eli Roth & Randy Pearlstein (based on a story by Roth).

“This film is actually a proper remake, we re-shot the same script Eli Roth and Randy Pealstein wrote,” Producer Evan Astrowsky tells Bloody Disgusting. “We had long talks about changing this and changing that, then the other producers and I read the original and realized, ’this script is still f’in amazing…’

“But, what we did do was create a few great bread crumbs and easter eggs through out the film for the true fans to spot and enjoy.”

He adds: “Travis Z had just worked with my producing partner Cassian Elwes on a smaller film, and quickly we all clicked. I just want to say this up front, having just seen the finished film recently, IT’S BAD ASS! Travis Z, our director, did an amazing job, and I don’t hand out complements lightly.”

If you recall, back in March Roth said he was “blown away” by the remake.

The film was produced by Evan Astrowsky, Christopher Lemole and Tim Zajaros, and was executive produced by Roth, Cassian Elwes, Jerry Fruchtman, Peter Fruchtman and Ike and Jaclyn Suri.

This Tempting Madness clip

A hospital stay grows more nerve-frazzling when memory loss distorts reality in our exclusive clip from This Tempting Madness, inspired by a true story.

The mind-bending psychological thriller will be released in select theaters and on demand on June 12 via Vertical.

Simone Ashley (“Bridgerton”) stars as Mia, who awakens from a coma, grievously injured, her memory fractured. As she puts the pieces of her past together, she starts to question her own actions and her perception of reality.

In This Tempting Madness, “Mia awakens from a coma grievously injured, her memory fractured. As she puts the pieces of her past together, she starts to question her own actions, and her perception of reality.”

Jennifer E. Montgomery makes her feature directorial debut from a script she co-wrote with director of photography Andrew Davis, inspired by Montgomery’s first-hand experience with tragedy involving her best friend.

“Months before the incident, there were signals that her world was unraveling,” says Montgomery. “I could feel the pressure building, though I didn’t know what form it would take. I never could have known what violence would come, and I certainly never imagined making a film about it.”

Austin Stowell (“NCIS: Origins”), Suraj Sharma (Happy Death Day 2U), Mojean Aria (Reminiscence), Amol Shah (“For All Mankind”), and Zenobia Shroff (“Ms. Marvel”) round out the cast.

Smoke Jumper Films and Mango Monster Productions produce in association with Catchlight Studios (HereticThe Blackening).

This Tempting Madness is rated R for “language, violence/bloody images, and brief sexuality.”
