Exclusive ‘Dark/Web’ Stills Reveal Technological Terrors
Bloody Disgusting has received some exclusive images from Dark/Web, a new series that will explore the terrors of a technological near-future where everyone is connected whether they like it or not.
Think Black Mirror by way of V/H/S, with pulse-pounding standalone episodes popping amid a mysterious wrap around and you get the idea of the format here.
Dark/Web features a great cast of horror regulars including Buffy the Vampire Slayer‘s Nicholas Brendon, Noemi Gonzales (Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones), Rene Heger (CIRCLE), Siobhan Fallon Hogan (Wayward Pines) along with Sibo Mlamba (Black Sails), Brian Elerding (Mad Men) and others.
As the series producers explain:
The anthology aspect of DARK/WEB will let us explore many sub-genres of horror and sci-fi. All stories will center around themes related to the Internet and the dangers present in the murky, unexplained layers of the web. Paranoia, isolation, vanity, loss of identity, the viral nature of ideas, and social media pressures are just a few of the subjects we’re looking to tackle. These pieces also give us the opportunity to showcase diverse and varied points of view from new and exciting filmmakers, writers, and actors across a wide spectrum of backgrounds.
Roxy Shih will direct the serialized segments of the series, with the stand-alone segments to be written and directed by different filmmakers including Zelda Williams and producer Joshua Thurston, Boman Modine , Mario Miscione, Michael Nardelli and Bloody Disgusting writer Christopher Webster (that’s me!).
Felt Films and Taggart Productions are producing with Autumn Federici, Mario Miscione and Tim Nardelli .

A hospital stay grows more nerve-frazzling when memory loss distorts reality in our exclusive clip from This Tempting Madness, inspired by a true story.
The mind-bending psychological thriller will be released in select theaters and on demand on June 12 via Vertical.
Simone Ashley (“Bridgerton”) stars as Mia, who awakens from a coma, grievously injured, her memory fractured. As she puts the pieces of her past together, she starts to question her own actions and her perception of reality.
In This Tempting Madness, “Mia awakens from a coma grievously injured, her memory fractured. As she puts the pieces of her past together, she starts to question her own actions, and her perception of reality.”
Jennifer E. Montgomery makes her feature directorial debut from a script she co-wrote with director of photography Andrew Davis, inspired by Montgomery’s first-hand experience with tragedy involving her best friend.
“Months before the incident, there were signals that her world was unraveling,” says Montgomery. “I could feel the pressure building, though I didn’t know what form it would take. I never could have known what violence would come, and I certainly never imagined making a film about it.”
Austin Stowell (“NCIS: Origins”), Suraj Sharma (Happy Death Day 2U), Mojean Aria (Reminiscence), Amol Shah (“For All Mankind”), and Zenobia Shroff (“Ms. Marvel”) round out the cast.
Smoke Jumper Films and Mango Monster Productions produce in association with Catchlight Studios (Heretic, The Blackening).
This Tempting Madness is rated R for “language, violence/bloody images, and brief sexuality.”
