‘Be Afraid’ Trailer Introduces a New Dream Demon (Exclusive)

AMBI and Samuel Goldwyn Films will be releasing Drew Gabreski’s Be Afraid via On Demand and Digital HD on June 1, 2017, Bloody Disgusting learned. The DVD will arrive later this summer.

We’ve also scored the first trailer for the film, carried by Kevin Grevioux’s (Underworld, I Frankenstein) super creepy dark voice. Be Afraid is a sleep paralysis horror film, although it looks like both father and son are being haunted by the same demon. You’ll also catch a nod to A Nightmare on Elm Street‘s famous bathtub sequence.

Not long after John Chambers and his family arrive at their new home in a small country town of Pennsylvania, John begins to experience sleep paralysis. Lying there paralyzed, trapped within his own nightmare, other-worldly beings visit John. They are entities which exist in the darkest shadows of the night and can only be seen out of the corner of one’s eye. These encounters begin to haunt John, transforming to complete terror as he discovers the entities’ sole purpose… the abduction of his seven-year-old son. In the end, John will uncover the town’s horrific secret, a portal on his land, and make one last attempt to save his son before the shadow people permanently take him away to their world.

Brian Krause (Sleepwalkers), Louis Herthum (“Westworld”, “True Blood”, The Last Exorcism), Jaimi Paige (Peacock), and Callie Thorne (“Rescue Me”) also star.
