[Exclusive] New ‘Flesh of the Void’ NSFW Images & Poster Continue To Disturb

Published

We’ve been reporting on director James Quinn‘s upcoming feature film debut, Flesh of the Void, for awhile now. Just yesterday it was announced that the film would be making its world premiere at Nightmares Film Festival in Columbus, Ohio this fall. Last year Quinn won the festival’s Best Midnight Short award for his short film, The Law of Sodom. This year he returns with Void and we’ve been given an assortment of exclusive images from the film to share with you. On top of that, we’ve also been given an exclusive look at the film’s final poster! Check them out below and be sure to watch the film’s latest trailer if you haven’t already!

Flesh of the Void is an extreme experimental horror feature, visualizing what it could feel like if the act of dying was a truly horrible experience. Shot extensively on Super 8 and 16mm, it is intended as a disjointed, surreal trip through the deepest and most violent fears of the human condition, depicting its subject in a radical, grotesque and raw manner, refusing to shy away from societal taboos.

The story was developed in multiple fragments, with Quinn turning the interlude over to Italian filmmakers David Chance Fragale, Sonia Secchi, and Emiliano Guarneri. The beginning of the film was shot on long-expired Super 8 stock, progressing to modern stock and ending the film with 16mm. For the vast majority of the film, characters’ identities are obscured by bags, masks or heavy makeup and the actors remain anonymous.

If you would like to attend Flesh of the Void‘s world premiere at Nightmares Film Festival this October, be sure to purchase your tickets from Gateway Film Center on August 13th.

This Tempting Madness clip

A hospital stay grows more nerve-frazzling when memory loss distorts reality in our exclusive clip from This Tempting Madness, inspired by a true story.

The mind-bending psychological thriller will be released in select theaters and on demand on June 12 via Vertical.

Simone Ashley (“Bridgerton”) stars as Mia, who awakens from a coma, grievously injured, her memory fractured. As she puts the pieces of her past together, she starts to question her own actions and her perception of reality.

In This Tempting Madness, “Mia awakens from a coma grievously injured, her memory fractured. As she puts the pieces of her past together, she starts to question her own actions, and her perception of reality.”

Jennifer E. Montgomery makes her feature directorial debut from a script she co-wrote with director of photography Andrew Davis, inspired by Montgomery’s first-hand experience with tragedy involving her best friend.

“Months before the incident, there were signals that her world was unraveling,” says Montgomery. “I could feel the pressure building, though I didn’t know what form it would take. I never could have known what violence would come, and I certainly never imagined making a film about it.”

Austin Stowell (“NCIS: Origins”), Suraj Sharma (Happy Death Day 2U), Mojean Aria (Reminiscence), Amol Shah (“For All Mankind”), and Zenobia Shroff (“Ms. Marvel”) round out the cast.

Smoke Jumper Films and Mango Monster Productions produce in association with Catchlight Studios (HereticThe Blackening).

This Tempting Madness is rated R for “language, violence/bloody images, and brief sexuality.”
