Bayview Entertainment Haunted by ‘Winifred Meeks’ [Trailer]
Bayview Entertainment has acquired US rights to the British supernatural horror Winifred Meeks, from director Jason Figgis, Bloody learned. The deal was brokered by The Movie Agency.
Lara Belmont stars as successful writer Anna James, who rents a remote farmhouse in England to begin work on the latest of a series of teen crime novels – “The Emma Hart Mysteries”.
“Initially, the setting seems perfect, but soon her idyll becomes unsettled by the presence of an unquiet spirit – that of the former lady of the house, Winifred Meeks (played by newcomer Julie Abbott). As Anna delves into her writing, she’s also determined to uncover the history of the property and with that, unwittingly move closer to a disturbing confrontation with the tragic figure that continues to hold sway within the walls of Seaview House.”

The film is being sold on minimalism and claustrophobic atmosphere.
Winifred Meeks is set for release in late 2020 with a digital/DVD date TBD for 2021.

Adam O’Brien (Mom) directs from a script by John Petrizzi and Brad Hodson.
When nurse Julia finds herself trapped inside the home of her dementia patient, she begins to suspect things are not what they seem; something demonic is seeping through the cracks of this old home. Trapped and with nowhere to turn, Julia soon finds herself in battle to rid the house of this evil before it is too late.
Dawn Ford, Emmanuelle Lussier Martinez, Bill Rowat, and Mark Antony Krupa star.
“This film depicts the most harrowing 90 minutes of our protagonist’s life, and I felt that the most visceral way to really feel this was to do a single-shot film,” O’Brien previously teased. “We are with her every step and misstep she takes – through the unraveling of the mystery to the horror of her discovery. It’s a fun, twisty roller-coaster ride that puts a new spin on exorcisms.”
Bury the Devil is the first installment in a planned trilogy. The prequel, Bury the Devil: Origin, is already in development with O’Brien returning to the helm.
O’Brien produces along with Philip Kalin-Hajdu (The Sacrifice Game) and Benoit Beaulieu (Turbo Kid).
