One of the best series on Quibi is the Sam Raimi-produced horror anthology “50 States of Fright” (review), which recently returned with an all-new season that explores stories based on urban legends from Colorado, Iowa, Missouri, and Washington.

Quibi partnered with five artists from Gallery 1988, LA’s popular gallery showcasing emerging artists focused on pop culture and entertainment, with each creating original artwork inspired by the new episodes, representing the urban legends of their own hometowns, showcased in the series. Founded in 2009, by Kelly Bittner and Andrew Maahs, BASEMINT is a collaborative creative studio that blurs the lines between graphic design, illustration and fine art. They toss it all together and hope it comes out all cool and pretty. Not only has the duo received awards from entities like PRINT Magazine and the American Advertising Federation, their work has also been featured in numerous design publications and exhibited across the country.

“13 Steps to Hell”/Washington

When a sister descends a strange underground stairwell adjacent to an overgrown Washington cemetery to retrieve her little brother’s lost toy, she finds more than she bargained for at the bottom of the steps.

Mark Farris is an artist and educator based out of Kansas City, MO. When he’s not teaching classes in printmaking at the University Of Central Missouri, Farris can be found working on personal projects, hanging out with his wife and kids, playing one-sided fetch with his dog Castle or riding his bike along country roads hoping not to be hit by a piece of farm equipment. A lifelong collector and nostalgist, Farris never passes up an opportunity to rummage through crates, bins and boxes in search of action figures, records and print ephemera.

BONUS. “The Golden Arm”/Michigan

Directed by Sam Raimi

Raimi, who executive produces the entire series, directs and co-writes “The Golden Arm”, in which a man marries a woman with a golden arm. A quick look into the legend reveals that after the wife passes away, her husband digs up her grave and steals the arm. She returns from the grave to torment the thief.
