Trailer: Mena Suvari Terrorized at ‘Paradise Cove’ [Exclusive]
Bloody Disgusting is heading to Paradise Cove with Mena Suvari (American Beauty, American Pie, “American Horror Story”), who is at the mercy of “True Blood” and “Once Upon a Time” alum Kristin Bauer van Straten in the Martin Guigui-helmed psychological thriller that now has a trailer.
In the film, a contractor and his wife (Todd Grinnell with Suvari) head to Malibu to flip his late mother’s beach house and are terrorized by the deranged homeless woman (Bauer van Straten) living underneath.
Paradise Cove is the latest feature for director Martin Guigui, who has enjoyed a long career as both a feature director and Grammy-nominated music producer. The script was penned by executive producer Sherry Klein, making her first foray into the thriller genre after starting her career on TV’s “Star Trek: Voyager” and recently working on the animated fantasy film franchise Ever After High.

Out today in select theaters and on digital platforms is heartfelt and playful documentary Mockbuster, which sees a director cold call a studio and ask to helm a lost-world dinosaur epic.

In the documentary, “A struggling filmmaker’s opportunity collides with chaos and compromise when Sharknado’s notorious studio, The Asylum, invites him to direct a ‘mockbuster.’ With six days, a micro budget, and mounting pressure, Mockbuster is a comedic, behind-the-scenes documentary exploring the balance between low-budget filmmaking and creative ambition.”
More than just an inside look at filmmaking via low-budget film studio The Asylum, it doubles as one man’s pursuit of his dreams to charming, humorous effect.

From Executive Producer and famed documentarian David Farrier, Mockbuster opens in select theaters and on digital platforms beginning July 10.
