Bloody Disgusting has learned that Edward Furlong (Terminator 2) and Dee Wallace (The Howling) will star in upcoming horror movie The Forest Hills, directed by Scott Goldberg.

We’ve been told that the official trailer will be unleashed on Halloween, and in the meantime we’ve been provided with a sneak-peek image along with the very first details.

The Forest Hills follows Rico, a man who is tormented by nightmarish visions after enduring head trauma while hiking in the Catskills.

Edward Furlong plays the role of Billy, a man who influences Rico to believe that he can become a werewolf. And we hear Furlong transforms into a werewolf in the movie.

“It’s nice to work on something where there’s a lot of love in it. I love it. It’s therapeutic. I’ve enjoyed working with Scott Goldberg.” Edward Furlong says in a statement.

Director/Producer/Writer Scott Goldberg tells Bloody Disgusting, “For the transformation process throughout the film, we are doing all practical special effects. There is absolutely no CGI for the transformation sequences because we grew up watching films in the early 80s that had to create the horror through practical special effects.”

“The film is very much a serial killer horror film, deviating from the typical storyline that has become so boring with someone getting bitten and changing. We don’t want to cheapen the experience of a new and unique werewolf movie,” Goldberg adds.

Check out a first-look at Edward Furlong in the movie below.

Produced by Dreznick-Goldberg Productions, Digital Thunderdome, and Scott Hansen.

This Tempting Madness clip

A hospital stay grows more nerve-frazzling when memory loss distorts reality in our exclusive clip from This Tempting Madness, inspired by a true story.

The mind-bending psychological thriller will be released in select theaters and on demand on June 12 via Vertical.

Simone Ashley (“Bridgerton”) stars as Mia, who awakens from a coma, grievously injured, her memory fractured. As she puts the pieces of her past together, she starts to question her own actions and her perception of reality.

In This Tempting Madness, “Mia awakens from a coma grievously injured, her memory fractured. As she puts the pieces of her past together, she starts to question her own actions, and her perception of reality.”

Jennifer E. Montgomery makes her feature directorial debut from a script she co-wrote with director of photography Andrew Davis, inspired by Montgomery’s first-hand experience with tragedy involving her best friend.

“Months before the incident, there were signals that her world was unraveling,” says Montgomery. “I could feel the pressure building, though I didn’t know what form it would take. I never could have known what violence would come, and I certainly never imagined making a film about it.”

Austin Stowell (“NCIS: Origins”), Suraj Sharma (Happy Death Day 2U), Mojean Aria (Reminiscence), Amol Shah (“For All Mankind”), and Zenobia Shroff (“Ms. Marvel”) round out the cast.

Smoke Jumper Films and Mango Monster Productions produce in association with Catchlight Studios (HereticThe Blackening).

This Tempting Madness is rated R for “language, violence/bloody images, and brief sexuality.”
