‘Dolly’ Knows Best On Attention Grabbing New Poster Ahead of March Release [Exclusive]
Mommy knows best, a phrase that’s terrifying instead of cozy when it comes to the upcoming horror movie Dolly.
Shot on Super 16mm film, the twisted folk horror tale arrives in theaters on March 6, and we’re exclusively debuting the new poster below.
In Dolly, “A young woman, Macy, fights for survival after being abducted by a deranged, monster-like figure who wants to raise Macy as their child. A daring blend of New French Extremity and 1970s American horror.”
Rod Blackhurst (“Amanda Knox,” Night Swim) directs from a script he co-wrote with Brandon Weavil, based on their 2022 short Babygirl.
Fabianne Therese (John Dies at the End), Seann William Scott (American Pie), Ethan Suplee (Mallrats), and pro wrestler Max the Impaler star.
The horror film draws from The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and New French Extremity. Trace Thurman wrote in his review out of Fantastic Fest, “Where Dolly falls short in the script or originality departments, it more than makes up for in the technical department, especially in the sound design and the practical gore effects. Every fleshy squelch and bone crack is not only heard, but felt, making the violence hit when it needs to.”
Get ready to meet Dolly soon, and expect to get much more acquainted in the future. As Thurman’s review also notes, another feature is on the way: “press notes for the film state that a sequel/prequel delving into Dolly’s origins has already been written and slated for production.”
“Dolly is an elegant and twisted fairy tale born out of a deep love of gritty genre films and wanting to see something bonkers that a 13-year-old me would pine to rent (somehow) from the local video store (that was also the jewelry and appliance repair store) in rural upstate New York,” said Blackhurst previously.

‘The Bay’ Exclusive Trailer – Francesca Eastwood Stars in Shark Attack Horror Movie
The next shark attack horror movie swimming our way this Summer is The Bay from Brainstorm Media, and Bloody Disgusting is exclusively debuting the official trailer today.
Francesca Eastwood (M.F.A., Clawfoot) stars in The Bay, which will notably feature an animatronic shark that’s been created by SFX and animatronics company Bischoff’s.
In writer/director Phil Volken’s The Bay, “When their tour boat sinks in a shark sanctuary, two best friends must fight for survival to escape the shark-infested waters.”
The film will be opening in theaters and on demand on July 17, 2026.
Watch the official trailer for The Bay down below.
Alexander Wraith, Dani Oliveros, and Ta’imua also star.
Phil Volken said in a statement, “I’ve made several films set on the open sea, and The Bay is the culmination of my experiences to date – with my crack team of regular collaborators, the movie is finely and expertly honed to maximize the combined fears of the ocean, the unknown, sharks and ultimately, just how cold-blooded nature can be – specifically human nature.”
“I’m delighted with the scale and performances we’ve delivered onscreen,” Volken continues. “The Bay’s going to completely immerse and terrify audiences worldwide!”
Phil Volken has indeed carved out a niche directing open sea-based movies over the years, including the thriller Extortion back in 2017 and the horror movie Dead Sea just last year.
