First Look at Billy Zane & Danielle Bisutti’s Vampire Western ‘Blood Rush;’ Robin Riker, Gigi Gustin, Dead Meat Join Cast [Exclusive]

We have your exclusive first look at Billy Zane (Demon Knight), Danielle Bisutti (Curse of Chucky), and more vampires in the western horror comedy Blood Rush.

Bloody Disgusting can also reveal that Gigi Gustin (The Retaliators), Robin Riker (Alligator), and Dead Meat’s James A. Janisse & Chelsea Rebecca have joined the cast.

Set in 1881 during the American Western Frontier gold rush, the story follows Lucifer’s children, Lilith (Bisutti) and Aamon (Zane), the original vampires who fly to the Americas to suck the living hope out of the common folk’s blood that’s been revived by the promise of the American Dream.

But plans to restore their vampiric reign are thwarted when an old familiar shows up, threatening to reveal their true nature if only his complicated feelings for the vamps don’t bloody the waters.

Gustin plays Sweet Sadie, the queen bee of the Soiled Doves, while Robin Riker plays Jezebel, the brothel madam. Janisse and Rebecca cameo as zealous townsfolk.

Henry Ian Cusick (“Lost”) co-stars as Van Helsing. William McNamara (Opera), Christina Moore (“That ’70s Show”), Colin Cunningham (“Falling Skies”), Ken Davitian (Borat), and Robert Craighead (“Future Man”) round out the cast.

“I am beyond thrilled to step into the world of Blood Rush,” Gustin tells us. “The script has a wildly original voice and a sharp, confident tone that blends dark comedy with stylized period dialogue. It feels daring, stylish, and cinematic. I just couldn’t resist myself when the opportunity came my way. Danielle created something truly exciting here, and getting to work opposite her and Billy Zane was an incredible experience, especially having grown up watching them both on screen. This movie will be a blood soaked thrill ride!”

“My favorite Halloween costume as a child was a vampire in a corset. When I was a teen in Las Vegas, I thought being a madam would be a great job,” adds Riker. “When Danielle offered me the opportunity to combine both my fantasies and set them in the old west, well… how could a girl say no?”

“As enormous fans of Danielle, it was an honor to be part of her directorial debut,” comments Dead Meat. “We said ‘yes’ within seconds of seeing footage they had already shot. We knew right away that this would be a blast for the cast and audiences alike!”

Bisutti makes her feature directorial debut on the film alongside co-director Stefan Colson (Lookout). Bisutti also penned the script.

Bisutti and Colson are producing via their respective companies, Perfect Timing Productions and BoatShoes Entertainment, along with Mike Hatton with Ton of Hats, Amber Montervino, Jon Bangle, and Michael P. Call.

Executive producers include Findaflaw Inc., David Johnson, Clyde Harris, Ron Greenbaum, Rogue 4 Films, Lisa & Marc Biales, and MacKay Drake.

Blood Rush recently wrapped principal photography in Los Angeles.

A hospital stay grows more nerve-frazzling when memory loss distorts reality in our exclusive clip from This Tempting Madness, inspired by a true story.

The mind-bending psychological thriller will be released in select theaters and on demand on June 12 via Vertical.

Simone Ashley (“Bridgerton”) stars as Mia, who awakens from a coma, grievously injured, her memory fractured. As she puts the pieces of her past together, she starts to question her own actions and her perception of reality.

In This Tempting Madness, “Mia awakens from a coma grievously injured, her memory fractured. As she puts the pieces of her past together, she starts to question her own actions, and her perception of reality.”

Jennifer E. Montgomery makes her feature directorial debut from a script she co-wrote with director of photography Andrew Davis, inspired by Montgomery’s first-hand experience with tragedy involving her best friend.

“Months before the incident, there were signals that her world was unraveling,” says Montgomery. “I could feel the pressure building, though I didn’t know what form it would take. I never could have known what violence would come, and I certainly never imagined making a film about it.”

Austin Stowell (“NCIS: Origins”), Suraj Sharma (Happy Death Day 2U), Mojean Aria (Reminiscence), Amol Shah (“For All Mankind”), and Zenobia Shroff (“Ms. Marvel”) round out the cast.

Smoke Jumper Films and Mango Monster Productions produce in association with Catchlight Studios (HereticThe Blackening).

This Tempting Madness is rated R for “language, violence/bloody images, and brief sexuality.”
