Set in a shadowy world where secret societies orchestrate both glory and ruin, “Mr. Reset and The Society of Turnbuckle & Bone” reimagines professional wrestling as a fever dream — one part psychological thriller, one part live-action anime, and all subversive spectacle.
With a razor-sharp sense of humor and moments of absurdity, the series gleefully lampoons the spectacle of fame even as it plunges viewers into dread: masked figures move in the periphery, rituals blur the line between ambition and nightmare, and every obsession comes at a bloodcurdling price.
At its center is Mr. Reset, a masked puppet master whose power looms over every champion and their journey to the top. Rising independent wrestler Power Punch (Pacifico) is unknowingly recruited into this sinister world by the enigmatic figure known as The Hand (McNeil). Desperate for fame, Power Punch’s path triggers a dangerous spiral of sacrifice and loss.
Haunted by “The Career Assassin” Mr. Fish (Fish) and the unwavering support of his wife, he’s forced to navigate a world where loyalty is currency—and selling your soul is merely the cost of doing business.
Meanwhile, Jamie Stanley faces an impossible choice: accept the seductive power offered by Mr. Reset and the Society of Turnbuckle & Bone, or cling to his former self, family, and beliefs. His initiation is brutal — a harrowing “thought exorcise experience” led by the society’s interrogator, RYZIN, who pushes Jamie to the edge and unleashes a darker persona: Mr. Stanley. Together, they ignite The New Apocalypse, an unholy alliance threatening to reshape the entire wrestling underworld.
Drawing inspiration from immersive theater like Sleep No More, the surreal spectacle and offbeat comedy of “Pee Wee’s Playhouse,” and cinematic cult classics like Eyes Wide Shut and Fight Club, the series strips away the glitz of sports entertainment to reveal its psychological toll — while never shying away from the bizarre, darkly comic moments that lurk in the industry’s shadows.
“I am truly honored and grateful to serve as the lead actor in this film,” Pacifico tells Bloody Disgusting. “This project holds special meaning for me because it brings together two of my greatest passions: horror and professional wrestling. Through this story, I’ve had the privilege of exploring authentic experiences within a fictional framework and shedding light on what it can be like growing up in the entertainment industry.”
