‘Weekend at the End of the World’ Trailer – Celebrate 4/20 with a Trippy Horror Comedy [Exclusive]

Published

on

The apocalypse stands in the way of two friends with the opportunity to strike it rich in our exclusive trailer for Weekend at the End of the World.

Clay Elliott and Cameron Fife star in the trippy horror comedy with Thomas Lennon (“Reno 911”), Troian Bellisario (“Pretty Little Liars”), Adam Ray (“Young Rock”), and Sujata Day (“Insecure”).

When Karl’s girlfriend rejects his proposal and shatters his dreams of happily ever after, his childhood best friend Miles takes him away to his Meemaw’s cabin to regroup, come together, and help flip it before the property bubble bursts.

The cabin and the once-deceased Meemaw have different plans, however, and Miles and Karl are forced to face both their metaphorical and very real demons.

After opening a portal to the realm between realities, a weakened Meemaw guides the hapless friends through various trials as they help her gain the strength she needs to close the portal forever and save our world.

Gille Klabin (The Wave) directs from a script he co-wrote with Elliott and Spencer McCurnin. Elliott, Fife, Klabin, and Beau Johnson produce.

Weekend at the End of the World was made with a central goal in mind: to entertain and surprise,” said Klabin. “At its core, our movie tries to take audiences on a ride that’s anchored with heart. It’s a story of self-actualization, set in a wildly original world, that we hope will make audiences care, scream, and laugh.”

Shot over the course of 12 days in Los Angeles on a budget of less than $300,000, financed by dozens of independent sources, the movie is evidence of what’s possible with passion, planning, and filmmaking knowledge.

Weekend at the End of the World will be self-distributed on Digital April 20. The entire crew was granted equity in the film, allowing them to share in its success.

A hospital stay grows more nerve-frazzling when memory loss distorts reality in our exclusive clip from This Tempting Madness, inspired by a true story.

The mind-bending psychological thriller will be released in select theaters and on demand on June 12 via Vertical.

Simone Ashley (“Bridgerton”) stars as Mia, who awakens from a coma, grievously injured, her memory fractured. As she puts the pieces of her past together, she starts to question her own actions and her perception of reality.

In This Tempting Madness, “Mia awakens from a coma grievously injured, her memory fractured. As she puts the pieces of her past together, she starts to question her own actions, and her perception of reality.”

Jennifer E. Montgomery makes her feature directorial debut from a script she co-wrote with director of photography Andrew Davis, inspired by Montgomery’s first-hand experience with tragedy involving her best friend.

“Months before the incident, there were signals that her world was unraveling,” says Montgomery. “I could feel the pressure building, though I didn’t know what form it would take. I never could have known what violence would come, and I certainly never imagined making a film about it.”

Austin Stowell (“NCIS: Origins”), Suraj Sharma (Happy Death Day 2U), Mojean Aria (Reminiscence), Amol Shah (“For All Mankind”), and Zenobia Shroff (“Ms. Marvel”) round out the cast.

Smoke Jumper Films and Mango Monster Productions produce in association with Catchlight Studios (HereticThe Blackening).

This Tempting Madness is rated R for “language, violence/bloody images, and brief sexuality.”
