‘Fear Factor: 48 Hours of Fear’ Clip Gives New Meaning to Spelling Bee [Exclusive]

Fear Factor: 48 Hours of Fear” will challenge six contestants to endure five extreme challenges without sleep. Only one will be left standing to claim the $50,000 prize.

Hosted by “Jackass” star Johnny Knoxville, the two-part special kicks off tomorrow, May 14, at 9pm ET/PT on Fox. The second half airs next Thursday, May 21. They’ll be available on Hulu the day after broadcast.

In our exclusive clip below, the players compete in a spelling bee while covered in thousands of actual bees.

Tatum, a 25-year-old from Scottsdale, AZ, is tasked with spelling “consternate.” Her fellow competitors include Adrienne (26, Sachse, TX), Blake (26, Delray Beach, FL), Brion (42, Oxford, MS), Jeff (48, New Jersey City, NJ), and Meg (45, Murrells Inlet, SC).

“Fear Factor: 48 Hours of Fear” is a spin-off of “Fear Factor: House of Fear,” which premiered in January and was renewed for a second season last month.

Joe Rogan hosted “Fear Factor” during its original run on NBC from 2001-2006 and again for its revival in 2011-2012. Ludacris served as host for MTV’s iteration of the show from 2017-2018.
