For those of you out there that are Region 4 (or Region Free) Takashi Miike’s Over Your Dead Body will be available to you on DVD starting August 25 thanks to Australia-based Eastern Eye. This release will be in Japanese with English subtitles. If you’re waiting for a North American Region 1 release, those rights are owned by Shout Factory who have yet to announce a release date, but one is expected later this year.

Synopsis:
Taking its cue from the art of Kabuki, Over Your Deady Body unfolds within the walls of a theatre where a troupe of players are in rehearsals for a production of Yotsuya Kaidan – a 200-year-old tale of murder, betrayal, and phantasmagorical vengeance. Soon enough though, life begins to bloodily imitate art backstage. As theatre and reality intertwine, the film builds to a nightmarish finale that only a filmmaker as perversely brilliant as Miike could have envisioned.
