Deathgasm

Dark Sky Films announced that the crowd-pleasing heavy metal horror comedy Deathgasm blasts to Digital Download, Blu-ray and DVD on January 5, 2016.

I said Deathgasm delivers on its bloody promise, while Patrick’s review raves that it’s the party movie of 2015!

High school is truly hell in Deathgasm. “Metal-thrashing Brodie (Milo Cawthorne, Blood Punch) is an outcast in a sea of jocks and cheerleaders in a suburban wasteland until he meets a kindred spirit in fellow metalhead Zakk (James Blake). After starting their own band, Brodie and Zakk’s come upon a mysterious piece of sheet music said to grant ultimate power to whoever plays it. But the music also summons an ancient evil entity known as Aeloth The Blind One, which threatens to tear apart existence itself.

The boys’ classmates and family become inhabited by demonic forces, tearing out their own eyes and turning into psychotic murderers … and that’s only the beginning! It’s up to Brodie, Zakk and their group of friends to stop a force of pure evil from devouring all of mankind.

Blood-soaked and outrageously hilarious, Deathgasm features an amazing original soundtrack of fist-pumping metal from such bands as Axeslasher, Beast Wars, Bulletbelt, Skull Fist, Nunslaughter and The Wretched End. Combine that with amazing makeup effects by Main Reactor (the Evil Dead remake, TV’s Spartacus), and it’s an extravaganza that makes both metalheads and splatter fans drool. Deathgasm will gush bodily fluids, rain limbs and tickle your funny bone, before tearing it out and giving you a stiff beating with it.

Levicitus Digital release

After releasing in theaters last month, NEON announced today that horror romance Leviticus will arrive on digital platforms to rent or own beginning July 28, followed by a Blu-ray/4K Ultra HD Combo and DVD release on September 8, 2026.

Leviticus marks the feature debut by writer/director Adrian Chiarella.

Joe Bird (Talk to Me) and Stacy Clausen play star-crossed teenage boys who must escape a violent entity that takes the form of the person they desire most — each other.

Mia Wasikowska (Crimson Peak), Jeremy BlewittEwen Leslie (The Nightingale), and Davida McKenzie (Silent Night) round out the cast of horror movie Leviticus.

Leviticus is a strong debut with an incisive voice at the helm,” I wrote in my review out of Sundance. “We care deeply about Naim and Ryan’s survival, making Leviticus a tense, atmospheric, and claustrophobic vision of young love in a hateful world.”

Leviticus is the perfect title for writer-director Adrian Chiarella‘s powerful feature debut,” Meagan’s review explains, “a searing anthem against the corrosive nature of fear and bigotry.”

The physical media release comes packed with exclusive bonus features, the home entertainment release includes a feature commentary with Adrian Chiarella, interviews with Chiarella, Stacy Clausen, and Joe Bird, an exclusive behind-the-scenes featurette, and the official trailer.

Look for Leviticus on Digital next week, and check out the box art for September’s Blu-ray release this September.
