We’re very excited for you guys to see Can Evrenol’s Turkish horror film Baskin, which will be opening on VOD and in limited theaters March 25th through IFC Midnight.
You can read my review out of TIFF’s Midnight Madness where I wrote, “It’s so shocking (at times) and so astoundingly well made that, if anything, I think it puts an exclamation stamp next to Can Evrenol’s name as one of the futures of horror.”
Baskin, based on the short of the same name, sends a squad of unsuspecting cops through a trapdoor to Hell when they stumble upon a Black Mass in an abandoned building.
The film truly does tap into the vein of Clive Barker’s Hellraiser. Check out the above clip that’s from the opening of the film that foreshadows the horrors that await the film’s protagonist.
