‘Friday the 13th: The Complete Series’ and ‘Tales from the Darkside: The Complete Series’ Art Revealed
Update: We’ve added the official CBS approved cover art.
Pretty exciting announcement from CBS and Paramount as they announced DVD boxsets of both “Friday the 13th: The Complete Series” and “Tales from the Darkside: The Complete Series”. Now both these sets are re-releases, so I’m hopeful that these new sets will have some type of special features included as the sets from a few years back did not. If they’re the same exact sets that’ll be a bit of a bummer, but still nice to see these sets get pushed back into circulation. At the very least the Friday the 13th set looks like it’ll be coming in new packaging which looks much better than the packaging on the previous release. Fingers crossed for some bonus supplements!
Friday The 13th: The Complete Series
Release Date: September 6Micki Foster inherits an antique store from her Uncle Lewis, but this is no ordinary antique shop. Lewis made a deal with the devil — in exchange for material wealth, he will sell cursed antiques. Micki, along with cousin Ryan and her partner, retired magician Jack, have the duty of recovering the antiques to be sealed in their basement, where the items can’t cause more harm.
Tales From The Darkside: The Complete Series
Release Date: September 6This horror/fantasy anthology series follows in the vein of The Twilight Zone. Each week presents another standalone story of horror fantasy, and/or science fiction. Some episodes are gruesome, a few are of a lighter comedic style. Like many such shows, Tales… adapted the work of famous genre authors of the period such as Harlan Ellison, Stephen King, and Clive Barker. Many episodes also featured veteran actors of the 40’s and 50’s that saw very little work in their later years.

The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.
