Each week here at Bloody Disgusting we like to highlight some of the new Blu-ray releases hitting shelves across the world. Please note that this isn’t every release for the week, just a few of the ones that jumped out at us.

Welcome to another fantastic week of releases! Lots of good stuff to add to your collections. We got another new one from Vestron Video with the Warlock Collection, something that a lot of genre fans have been pining for to hit region A Blu-ray. Plus we have another American Argento release with The Stendhal Syndrome and if you’re anything like me you always welcome Argento into your collection. The big ones for me though? Batman: Mask of the Phantasm and The Bill Jack Collection. I need both these now!

US Releases

Warlock Collection (Vestron video, Region A)

Warlock
A witch-hunter chases a 17th-century warlock through time and is aided by a waitress in 80’s Los Angeles.

Warlock: The Armageddon
Every six hundred years, a great evil has the opportunity to escape and unleash Armageddon. A group of five stones has the power to either free the evil, or banish it for another six hundred years. An order of Druids battles with a Warlock determined to unleash his father upon the world.

Warlock III: The End of Innocence
A college student unexpectedly finds that she has inherited a derelict house. Accompanied by a group of friends, she goes there to clear it of heir-looms before the structure is demolished. Almost immediately, she and her friends are targeted by a powerful warlock who is very interested in her bloodline.

The Stendhal Syndrome (Blue Underground, Region A)

Synopsis:
When beautiful police detective Anna Manni follows the bloody trail of a sophisticated serial murderer/rapist through the streets of Italy, the young woman falls victim to the bizarre “Stendhal Syndrome” – a hallucinatory phenomenon which causes her to lose her mind and memory in the presence of powerful works of art. Trapped in this twilight realm, Anna plunges deeper and deeper into sexual psychosis, until she comes to know the killer’s madness more intimately than she ever imagined.

Ghost in the Shell (Paramount, Region A)

Synopsis:
In the near future, Major is the first of her kind: A human saved from a terrible crash, who is cyber-enhanced to be a perfect soldier devoted to stopping the world’s most dangerous criminals.

Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (Warner Archive, Region A)

Synopsis:
Batman is wrongly implicated in a series of murders of mob bosses actually done by a new vigilante assassin.

Night People (Kino Lorber, Region A)

Synopsis:
After World War II, an American GI is kidnapped by Soviets who hope to exchange him for two ex-Nazi’s hiding in West Berlin.

The Complete Billy Jack Collection (Shout Select, Region A)

Born Losers
Billy Jack battles outlaw motorcycle gang in a small California beach town.

Billy Jack
Ex-Green Beret hapkido expert saves wild horses from being slaughtered for dog food and helps protect a desert “freedom school” for runaway.

The Trial of Billy Jack
After Billy Jack in sentenced to four years in prison for the “involuntary manslaughter” of the first film, the Freedom School expands and flourishes under the guidance of Jean Roberts.

Billy Jack Goes to Washington
After a senator suddenly dies after completing (and sealing) an investigation into the nuclear power industry, the remaining senator and the state governor must decide on a person who will play along with their shady deals and not cause any problems.

Beyond the Darkness (Severin, Region A)

Synopsis:
When Anna, the fiance of taxidermist Frank Wyler, dies of a mysterious illness, Frank digs up her body and preserves it per his profession so that he can be with his lover forever.

Bag Boy Lover Boy (Severin, Region A)

Synopsis:
“Bag Boy Lover Boy” follows the lowly life of Albert, an oddball hotdog vendor who is shocked to find himself suddenly becoming the bizarre muse of enigmatic NYC photographer Ivan. But shocks come his way even more so when, amidst his role in Ivan’s disturbing photographs for which he poses, Albert finds out just how difficult it is to succeed in the art world, leading him to take some disturbing photographs of his own that suit his very unique – and very limited – skill set.

Black Butterfly (Lionsgate, Region A)

Synopsis:
Remake of French thriller, Papillon Noir by Herve Korian. Banderas plays Paul, a down-on-his-luck screenwriter who picks up a drifter (Rhys Meyers) and offers him a place to stay. However, when the deranged stranger takes Paul hostage and forces him to write, their unhinged relationship brings buried secrets to light.

The Zodiac Killer (AGFA, Region A)

Synopsis:
The San Francisco area is beset by a series of seemingly random murders without motive or pattern. The police are taunted by phone calls and letters. Could the maniac be the violent, truck driver, or the seemingly mild-mannered mailman, or even a cop?

UK Releases

Cold Blooded Beast (88 Films, Region B)

Synopsis:
Slasher film. An axe-wielding maniac stalks the beautiful women of an upscale sanitarium.

The Long Hair of Death (88 Films, Region B)

Synopsis:
In a 15th-century feudal village, a woman is accused of witchcraft and put to death. Her beautiful older daughter knows the real reason for the execution lies in the lord’s sexual desire for her mother. After confronting the lord on the matter, she, too, is killed. A much younger daughter is spared and taken in by her mother’s killers. Once she is of age, as a horrible, deadly plague sweeps the land, she marries the lord’s worthless son. Then, during a brutal thunderstorm, the older daughter mysteriously reappears and begins to avenge her mother’s death.

Just Before Dawn (88 Films, Region B)

Synopsis:
Five campers arrive in the mountains to examine some property they have bought, but are warned by the forest ranger Roy McLean that a huge machete-wielding maniac has been terrorising the area.

Chris Coffel is originally from Phoenix, AZ and now resides in Portland, OR. He once scored 26 goals in a game of FIFA. He likes the Phoenix Suns, Paul Simon and 'The 'Burbs.' Oh and cats. He also likes cats.

Watch the Opening ‘Mortal Kombat II’ Battle Scene Now Ahead of Physical Media Release in July

Sequel Mortal Kombat II is now available to watch at home on Digital before heading to physical media in July, but you can test your might now and watch the opening scene.

Mortal Kombat director Simon McQuoid returns to the helm for the new sequel from a script by Jeremy Slater (“Moon Knight,” Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire).

In Mortal Kombat II, the fan-favorite champions — now joined by Johnny Cage (Karl Urban) — are pitted against one another in the ultimate, no-holds barred, gory battle to defeat the dark rule of Shao Kahn that threatens the very existence of the Earthrealm and its defenders.

Adeline Rudolph, Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Ludi Lin, Mehcad Brooks, Tati Gabrielle, Lewis Tan, Damon Herriman, Chin Han, Tadanobu Asano, Joe Taslim, and Hiroyuki Sanada are also part of the ensemble cast of Mortal Kombat II fighters.

Watch the opening below, which introduces a young Kitana (Sophia Xu) as Emperor Shao Kahn (Martyn Ford) prepares to conquer her father, King Jerrod (Desmond Chiam), and her kingdom of Edenia. It sets the sequel’s entire plot in motion.

From New Line Cinema, James Wan’s Atomic Monster, Broken Road Productions, and Fireside Films, Mortal Kombat II is rated R for “strong bloody violence and gore, and language.”

Look for Mortal Kombat II to arrive on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on July 28, 2026.
