‘Flatliners’ is Getting a SteelBook…From Mill Creek!
I love Mill Creek, I really do. I’ve written positively over the years about a number of their releases. They are the leader when it comes to bargain bin releases which I consider to be a good thing.
They’ve started releasing more Blu-rays over the years and they’ve always been stellar. They’re typically of the bare bones variety and the packaging has been pretty standard. The transfers have always been great — and that’s most important — but generally speaking they’ve been pretty basic. That’s what makes this new news so damn exciting!
On September 26, 2017 Mill Creek will release Flatliners, a film they’ve previously released, as a brand new Blu-ray/DVD combo SteelBook! Woah.
No word yet on whether or not this release will contain any special features but the fact that it’s getting a collector’s edition SteelBook (pictured below) is a pretty huge step from Mill Creek. Furthermore, this appears to be just the first of many SteelBooks to come.

“We are thrilled to partner with SteelBook® to develop a collectible product that’ll appeal to fans of Flatliners and to collector community,” says Barrett Evans, VP of Marketing and Product Development for Mill Creek Entertainment. “We wanted to capture the film’s haunting, neo-Gothic tone and the overriding existential themes with this new artwork. The interior spread illustrates vignettes of each character’s haunted past through an all-new interpretation. We are proud of how this came together and feel it complements the artistic originality of Schumacher’s film.”
There’s no clear indication that more Steelbooks are to come, but these quotes from Mill Creek VP Evans do mention that they’ve officially partnered with SteelBook. My guess is that more could be on the way. Stay tuned!

Horror Romance ‘Leviticus’ Heads Home to Digital Next Week
After releasing in theaters last month, NEON announced today that horror romance Leviticus will arrive on digital platforms to rent or own beginning July 28, followed by a Blu-ray/4K Ultra HD Combo and DVD release on September 8, 2026.
Leviticus marks the feature debut by writer/director Adrian Chiarella.
Joe Bird (Talk to Me) and Stacy Clausen play star-crossed teenage boys who must escape a violent entity that takes the form of the person they desire most — each other.
Mia Wasikowska (Crimson Peak), Jeremy Blewitt, Ewen Leslie (The Nightingale), and Davida McKenzie (Silent Night) round out the cast of horror movie Leviticus.
“Leviticus is a strong debut with an incisive voice at the helm,” I wrote in my review out of Sundance. “We care deeply about Naim and Ryan’s survival, making Leviticus a tense, atmospheric, and claustrophobic vision of young love in a hateful world.”
“Leviticus is the perfect title for writer-director Adrian Chiarella‘s powerful feature debut,” Meagan’s review explains, “a searing anthem against the corrosive nature of fear and bigotry.”
The physical media release comes packed with exclusive bonus features, the home entertainment release includes a feature commentary with Adrian Chiarella, interviews with Chiarella, Stacy Clausen, and Joe Bird, an exclusive behind-the-scenes featurette, and the official trailer.
Look for Leviticus on Digital next week, and check out the box art for September’s Blu-ray release this September.
