Severin Films to Release Fucli’s Erotic Thriller ‘The Devil’s Honey!’

Published

If you thought the Sax Man from The Lost Boys was sexy, you ain’t seen nothing yet!

Few filmmakers mean more to me than Lucio Fulci. I’ve often described the Godfather of Gore as pizza, because bad pizza is still better than no pizza. His films never fail to fascinate me. He has a style all his own that sets him apart from any other filmmaker to ever live. When you’re watching a Fulci film, you know you’re watching a Fulci film.

Fulci has a massive body of work and we’ll likely never see it all get proper home video releases, but it seems like every few weeks or so an announcement of a new Fulci film hitting Blu-ray surfaces and I get giddy. Our good friends at Severin Films just recently made an announcement regarding The Devil’s Honey.

The Devil’s Honey is a little-seen erotic thriller from Fulci that was released back in 1986. It may have taken 31 years, but on September 26th The Devil’s Honey is finally going to get an uncut, uncensored and restored release in the US. And Severn isn’t merely releasing the film, they’re going the extra mile.

The film will come with reversible art — one side dubbed The Less Naughty Side and the reverse being The Too Naughty for Amazon Side — and there will be a limited edition of 1,000 numbered slipcase releases available exclusively from the Sever Films webstore. Fulci fans will have the option of ordering the DVD, special edition Blu-ray, special edition Blu-ray with slipcover, special edition Blu-ray with enamel pin or the Devil’s Bundle – Blu-ray with slipcover and the enamel pin. That’s right, there’s going to be a Fulci pin!

Severin Films has partnered with Pseudo Ludo to create the Hall of Fame Directors series of enamel pins and they’re getting things started with Fulci. Below is a mock up of what the pin will look like, inspired by Fulci’s cameo in The Devil’s Honey.

Oh and of course the release will be loaded with special features because Severin gives the people what they want. All hail Fulci!

With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.
