‘Ruby’ and ‘Satan’s Cheerleaders’ Getting Blu-ray Releases!
Some exciting home video news came out earlier this week when it was announced that MVD Entertainment Group would be partnering up with VCI Entertainment for a slate of fall releases. MVD has their hands on a lot of physical media with their distribution of Arrow Video in North America being the most notable for Bloody Disgusting readers. VCI has been around for years restoring and preserving classic films from the 1930s and beyond. They’ve also been pretty busy in the genre world releasing titles like The City of the Dead.
Not sure the specifics on how things are going to work between MVD and VCI but it looks like MVD will be handling distribution for VCI which likely means VCI titles will be more wildly available and if that’s the case then everybody wins. Whatever the case may be they have already announced two new horror titles. First up is Ruby, a supernatural thriller starring Piper Laurie that was actually released this past Tuesday. You can order it now from Amazon. The second title due for a November 7th release is Satan’s Cheerleaders.
Ruby is actually a film that is completely new to me but looks awesome. Satan’s Cheerleaders, on the other hand, I do remember from when I was younger. We had the film on VHS when I was little, problem around 6ish. During that time I used to watch stuff on VHS all the time, mostly cartoons. One day I came across this and thought it said Santa’s Cheerleaders so I put it on. Boy was I surprised. I only vaguely remember the film but I look forward to re-visiting it and this time I’ll have a better idea of what to expect.
Here’s to hoping this is just the start and we soon get more titles from MVD and VIC. Check out the full details and trailers for each film below!

‘Scary Movie’ Heads to Blu-ray in September After $224 Million Box Office Win
Over one month later, Scary Movie is still playing in theaters and still making money, with the franchise’s brand new installment slashing into $224.5 million at the worldwide box office.
In fact, the Scary Movie franchise has now collectively passed $1 billion in theaters!
Scary Movie is headed to Digital at home soon, and a listing on Amazon this week indicates that the film will be making its way to Blu-ray and DVD this coming September.
The film is listed for DVD and Blu-ray release on September 22, 2026.
We don’t have any additional release information at this time. Stay tuned.
Marlon Wayans (“Shorty”), Shawn Wayans (“Ray”), Anna Faris (“Cindy”), and Regina Hall (“Brenda”) reunite for the new Scary Movie, with the cast also including Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, Jon Abrahams, Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott Roberts, Heidi Gardner, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber, Savannah Lee Nassif, Sydney Park, and Felissa Rose.
Twenty-six years after outrunning a suspiciously familiar masked killer (“Ghostface”), the Core Four are back in the killer’s crosshairs and no horror movie IP is safe…
Scary Movie will slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, origin stories, anything with the word legacy in it, and every “final chapter” that absolutely isn’t. A whole lot has changed in the horror genre since the Wayans Brothers were in charge of the franchise; their involvement ended with Scary Movie 2 back in 2001!
Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House) directed the new Scary Movie.
