Grab a Raincoat, ‘The Devil’s Rain’ is Coming to Blu-ray!

Severin Films to bring the rain, The Devil’s Rain!

It was merely three weeks ago that Severin Films announced the upcoming release of Lucio Fulci’s erotic thriller The Devil’s Honey. Never the ones to be satisfied with the release of one film with a title that sexualizes the Devil, Severin has now announced that The Devil’s Rain will hit Blu-ray on October 31st — hey, that’s Halloween! Please, give me a moment while I catch my breath.

One of the most shocking films of the 70’s, this classic in desperate need of an HD upgrade also boasts one of the most exciting casts with the likes of William Shatner, Ernest Borgnine, Eddie Albert, Tom Skerrit and John Travolta. Hell, Anton LaVey, founder of The Church of Satan, served as a technical advisor!

One makes this release from Severin so special, beyond simply getting a Blu-ray version of the film, is that they worked with the Church of Satan to get this bad boy out. You can order a special Prince of the Abyss Bundle for $33.00 and get not only the film loaded with special features, but a special limited edition slipcover and  Corbis Pendant. Yes! Full details below!

Synopsis:

A bunch of Satanists in the American rural landscape have terrible powers which enable them to melt their victims. However one of the children of an earlier victim vows to destroy them.

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones. Instead, they unearth The Gate — an underground chamber of terrifying demonic evil. The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.
