‘The House on Sorority Row’ Gets New 2K Scan for Upcoming Blu-ray
Nothing can prepare you for what happens when she fights back.
Exciting news for fans of 1983 slasher The House on Sorority Row (remade as Sorority Row in 2009) this week, as Scorpion Releasing has announced they’re re-issuing the film with a brand new Blu-ray. The reissue, to be sold exclusively through curated Blu-ray shop Ronin, is set to arrive in March 2018.
It’ll feature new art from The Glitchway, as well as a brand new 2k scan of the original negative, with over 45 hours of color correction, done EXCLUSIVE for this release.
The limited edition version will feature a collectable slip-sleeve, along with:
- 5.1 surround sound mix from the original 3 track Mag
- SDH subtitles for the hearing impaired
- isolated music track
- all extras on the previous releases
- watch the film in Katarina’s Nightmare theater mode
- audio commentary with director Mark Rosen and stars Eillen Davidson and KateMcNeil
- audio commentary with director Mark Rosen
- interviews with director Mark Rosman, actress Harley Jane Kozak, actress Eileen Davidson, actress Katie McNeil, composer Richard Band and producer Igo Kantor
- story board on the original ending
- isolated music track

- English subtitles for the hearing impaired
This will be a limited pressing of 1,500. A standard release without the slip or new art will be coming from Music Box Films for sale in all major retailers three months later.

Gateway Horror Classic ‘The Gate’ Returns to Life With Blu-ray SteelBook in May
One of my personal favorite horror movies of all time, 1987’s gateway horror classic The Gate is opening back up on May 14 with a brand new Blu-ray SteelBook release from Lionsgate!
The new release will feature fresh SteelBook artwork from Vance Kelly, seen below.

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones. Instead, they unearth The Gate — an underground chamber of terrifying demonic evil.
