Killer Bear Flick ‘Grizzly’ Getting a 4K Restoration for New Blu-ray

Scorpion Releasing has already put the 1976 horror movie Grizzly onto Blu-ray in the past, but Blu-ray.com reports that a NEW Blu-ray, with a 4K restoration, is on the way!

The remastered edition will be exclusively sold through the online shop Ronin, the site notes, and limited to just 1,500 copies worldwide. It’s expected later this year.

In Grizzly, “A fifteen-foot grizzly bear figures out that humans make for a tasty treat. As a park ranger tries rallying his men to bring about the bear’s capture or destruction, his efforts are thwarted by the introduction of dozens of drunken hunters into the area.”

Special Features will include:

  • BRAND NEW 4K REMASTER OF THE FILM struck from an interpositive, with over 50 hours of extensive color correction completed exclusively for this release.
  • NEW audio commentary with film historian Lee Gambin
  • Vintage Making of Girzzly – featurette
  • Isolated music and effects track
  • Nightmare Theater mode presentation of the film
  • Jaws with Claws – featurette
  • Beverly Hills Q&A session with Andrew Prine
  • Original Trailer
  • Optional English SDH subtitles for the main feature

The William Girdler-directed Grizzly stars Christopher George, Andrew Prine, Richard Jaeckel, Joe Dorsey, and Charles Kissinger.
