We had heard that a new title from Lionsgate’s Vestron Video Collector’s Series was going to be announced soon, and though this isn’t yet an official announcement, it has slipped on social media that the label will apparently be releasing Maximum Overdrive, Stephen King’s sole credit as a director, on Blu-ray *possibly* later this year.
Dawn of the Discs brings the news to our attention, and the source looks to be a leaked “special features” video that has since been made private. They note that the video was confirmation that Maximum Overdrive is coming from Vestron, and it sure seems to be.
This Blu-ray is reportedly being released on October 23.
In the 1986 film, “A group of people try to survive when machines start to come alive and become homicidal.”
