The Horror Coming to Netflix in January 2019 Includes ‘Pan’s Labyrinth’ and ‘The Strangers’

A new year brings new horror to Netflix, and we’ve just been provided with the list of new arrivals for January 2019. Most notably, next month will see the Stateside debut of animated film Godzilla: Planet Eater, the third and final installment in the trilogy that began with Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters and continued with Godzilla: City on the Edge of Battle.

Here’s everything you can expect on Netflix in the first month of 2019!

Arriving January 1st:

Arriving January 9th:

One of the last survivors on Earth, a teen races to cure her poisoned planet before the final shuttle to a distant space colony leaves her stranded.

Available January 24th:

  • Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes – Netflix Original

Get a unique look inside the mind of an infamous serial killer with this cinematic self-portrait crafted from statements made by Ted Bundy.

  • Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation

Available January 25th:

  • Animas – Netflix Film

When her best friend starts acting odd after a strange accident, a young woman descends into a living hell where nightmare and reality are blurred.

  • Kingdom – Netflix Series

In a kingdom defeated by corruption and famine, a mysterious rumour of the king’s death spreads as does a strange plague that renders the infected immune to death and hungry for flesh. The crown prince, fallen victim to a conspiracy, sets out on a journey to unveil the evil behind it all and save his people.

‘In a Violent Nature’ Gets Official VHS Release With Standard Edition and Book Box Edition

While we wait for the sequel, the fan favorite slasher movie In a Violent Nature is back this week with a brand new VHS release from Broke Horror Fan and Witter Entertainment.

An official partnership with Shudder, In a Violent Nature is now available on limited edition fully functional VHS, with a Standard Edition and a special Book Box Edition.

Witter previews, “The 2024 Shudder Original slasher arrives on VHS with two variants: A standard slipcase with art by The Boland Design Company, and a book box edition with art by Gary Pullin + a gatefold cover and green VHS tape! Book boxes are limited to 200.”

Each tape includes exclusive introductions from director Chris Nash and cast. And a behind-the-scenes featurette is even included, which will play after the feature itself.

For optimal VHS viewing, the film is presented in its original 4:3 full frame aspect ratio.
