With Mike Flanagan’s Doctor Sleep headed our way later this year, we recently learned that Warner Bros. had completed a 4K restoration of Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining, which is first headed to the Cannes Film Festival this week. As expected, it’s also coming to home video!
Kubrick’s horror masterpiece will hit 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and Digital on October 1!
The 4K remastering was done using a new 4K scan of the original 35mm camera negative.
The mastering was done at Warner Bros. Motion Picture Imaging, with color grading by Janet Wilson and supervision from Stanley Kubrick’s former personal assistant Leon Vitali.
