Before the Guillermo del Toro-produced Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark came along in 2010, there was of course the 1973 original, a made-for-TV horror film directed by John Newland. It first played on ABC for the Halloween season, on October 10, 1973, and we’ve learned today that the film has been newly restored for a Blu-ray release from Warner Archive!
The company announced today that the film is coming to BD with “a new 2019 1080p master from a 4k scan of the original camera negative and an additional commentary.”
