The Japanese zombie-comedy One Cut of the Dead from director Shinichiro Ueda was a huge hit out of Fantasia last year, with Meagan raving in her review for us that the film “charms with surprising zombie comedy,” while also adding: “For those looking for laughs and commentary on the passions of low budget horror filmmaking, this is a must watch.”
In the film, things go badly for a hack director and film crew shooting a low budget zombie movie in an abandoned WWII Japanese facility, when they are attacked by real zombies.
Shudder just released the film in limited theaters, and now they’ve announced today that it’s coming to their streaming service next week, on Tuesday, September 24th!
It will be available to stream in the U.S., Canada, UK and Ireland.
