‘Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark’ Heads Home in Time for Halloween
We’ve learned today that André Øvredal‘s Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark arrives on Digital October 22 and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on November 5 from Lionsgate.
In Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, “It’s 1968 in America. Change is blowing in the wind…but seemingly far removed from the unrest in the cities is the small town of Mill Valley where for generations, the shadow of the Bellows family has loomed large. It is in their mansion on the edge of town that Sarah, a young girl with horrible secrets, turned her tortured life into a series of scary stories, written in a book that has transcended time—stories that have a way of becoming all too real for a group of teenagers who discover Sarah’s terrifying tome.”

Produced by Guillermo del Toro, the film was released in theaters on August 9th, 2019. It pulled in just shy of $100 million worldwide, with a $92,515,919 total.
One of my personal favorite horror movies of all time, 1987’s gateway horror classic The Gate is opening back up on May 14 with a brand new Blu-ray SteelBook release from Lionsgate!
The new release will feature fresh SteelBook artwork from Vance Kelly, seen below.

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones.
