Watch a Fantastical 80’s-Inspired ‘The Gallows: Act II’ Deleted Scene [Video]

The Gallows: Act II, the sequel to 2015’s The Gallows, will arrive on Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD December 24th, right in time for your last minute holiday shopping. Extras include an audio commentary with the filmmakers, a never-before-seen making-of featurette, and deleted scenes.

In the sequel, directed by Travis Cluff and Chris Lofing, “After Auna Rue, a teenage vlogger/aspiring actress, logs onto a sinister website, she’s soon trapped in the malevolent world of a cursed stage play, The Gallows. After performing a passage from the play for her tiny online fan base, Auna instantly achieves the stardom she seeks—as well as a twisted challenge from a deadly spirit (The Hangman).”

Today brings us a look at one of the deleted scenes, a movie within a movie.

“The Return of Thayolund ‘movie within the movie’ was never meant to be more than it needed to be – a depiction of a nostalgic 80’s fantasy film with old school practical effects and sets,” the filmmakers explained to Bloody. “But our crew had so much fun putting this make-shift fairytale world together that we had to overshoot. Our camera, costume, production design and special effects teams deserve all the credit for making this sequence (as cheesy 80’s as it is) something fantastical and fun.”
