Last year, co-writer John Campopiano (Pennywise: The Story of IT) teamed with director Ryan Grulich on Georgie, a short film that essentially serves as an unofficial sequel to the 1990 mini-series adaptation of Stephen King’s IT. Georgie is notable for starring IT actor Tony Dakota as Georgie Denbrough, the character he played in the 1990 mini-series.
Ben Heller, young Stanley Uris from IT 1990, also appears in the short.
We’ve learned this week that Georgie, after debuting online last year, will be included on the next horror anthology DVD/Blu-ray release from Meridian Releasing Group.
Georgie will be part of The MRG Collective Volume 5, headed our way March 2020.
The collection also includes the award-winning short films Adam, Conversation With the Devil, Dirt, Hell Phone, Jia Ting, Nervous Breakdown and Santa Baby.
Campopiano explains, “This release and Meridian in general are committed to giving independent filmmakers making short form horror content a larger platform.”
