Floria Sigismondi’s ‘The Turning’ Heads Home in April With an Alternate Ending

Published

on

A well-shot and well-acted adaptation of The Turn of the Screw, Floria Sigismondi‘s The Turning was skewered by critics for its abrupt non-ending, which sent everyone out of the theater on a sour note and essentially undid all the good will the film had earned up to that point. It’s a bummer, because a better ending would’ve changed the conversation completely.

Sigismondi recently teased that another version of an ending was shot, and we’ve learned this week that the alternate ending will be included on the upcoming home video release.

The Turning will be released on Digital on April 7 and DVD/Blu-ray on April 21.

Special Features include:

  • “Behind The Turning” featurette
  • Alternate ending
  • Deleted scenes

“At a mysterious estate in the Maine countryside, newly appointed nanny Kate is charged with the care of two disturbed orphans, Flora and Miles. Quickly though, she discovers that both the children and the house are harboring dark secrets and things may not be as they appear.”

Mackenzie Davis, Finn Wolfhard, Brooklynn Prince and Joely Richardson star.

Writer in the horror community since 2008. Editor in Chief of Bloody Disgusting. Owns Eli Roth's prop corpse from Piranha 3D. Has four awesome cats. Still plays with toys.
