‘Friday the 13th’ and ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ Remakes Leaving Netflix in April

Published

on

Netflix just sent over their new arrivals and “last call” titles for April, and though there’s not much in terms of new arrivals for the horror genre, a few big titles are leaving next month.

Just one year apart, New Line Cinema and Platinum Dunes brought Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger back to the big screen with the one-two punch of Marcus Nispel’s Friday the 13th in 2009 and Samuel Bayer’s A Nightmare on Elm Street in 2010, and neither icon has been seen or heard from since. Both remakes will be saying goodbye to Netflix on April 30th.

Other horror films leaving Netflix on April 30th include:

  • The Craft
  • Rosemary’s Baby
  • Scream 2
  • Scream 3

Ghostface, Freddy and Jason, all leaving Netflix on the same day. Ya hate to see it.

Then again, ya hate to see this too…

A Nightmare on Elm Street Premise

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones. Instead, they unearth The Gate — an underground chamber of terrifying demonic evil. The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.

If you’ve never seen The Gate, it’s now streaming on Prime Video and Tubi.
