Hitchcock Classics Collection Coming to 4K Ultra HD in September With ‘Psycho’ Uncut for 1st Time in U.S.

As we told you a couple weeks back, Universal is gearing up to release The Alfred Hitchcock Classics Collection, a 4K Ultra HD set that’ll include Psycho, The Birds, Rear Window and Vertigo. The upcoming set has now been fully detailed this week.

For starters, the set will be released on September 8th, 2020.

The 4-disc 4K Ultra HD offering will notably include the original uncut version of Hitchcock’s Psycho, which was released on home video for the first time back in 2018 in Germany. The uncut version of Hitchcock’s Psycho is home to minor bits of footage that were ultimately cut from the film; this version has aired on TV in Germany in the past.

“This collection with collectible Discbook packaging includes hours of bonus features such as documentaries, expert commentaries, interviews, screen tests and much more.”

Gateway Horror Classic ‘The Gate’ Returns to Life With Blu-ray SteelBook in May

One of my personal favorite horror movies of all time, 1987’s gateway horror classic The Gate is opening back up on May 14 with a brand new Blu-ray SteelBook release from Lionsgate!

The new release will feature fresh SteelBook artwork from Vance Kelly, seen below.

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones.
