Dark Sky’s Christmas-Set Pandemic Horror ‘Hosts’ Gets October Release

Published

on

Dark Sky Films is having their Christmas feast this Halloween season with Hosts, on digital and VOD October 2nd.

Said to “follow in the footsteps of The Exorcist, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and Inglorious Basterds,” Hosts takes place on Christmas Eve where an innocent couple become hosts to a malicious entity…

“Throughout the night they proceed to terrorize a family of five in unimaginably violent and disturbing ways. But these demonic possessions won’t end with this unfortunate family; they mark just the beginning of a horrific worldwide epidemic. Beneath its nerve-jangling suspense, the film offers a dark and bloody insight into how lying to your loved ones can not only alienate them, it can completely destroy your bonds with them forever.”

Writer/directors Richard Oakes and Adam Leader make their feature directorial debut on Hosts, which stars Samantha Loxley (Election Night, Skin Deep), Neal Ward (Two Graves, To Dream), Nadia Lamin (Homeless Ashes, Nefarious), Frank Jakeman (Game of Thrones), and Lee Hunter (Vikings).

Here’s the trailer we previously released.

The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.
