Don't Look - Janelle Monae in Antebellum

Lionsgate’s Antebellum is releasing *at home* next Friday, September 18th, and a trio of new clips from the Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz-directed horror movie has arrived today.

Antebellum stars Janelle Monáe as successful author Veronica Henley, who finds herself trapped in a horrifying reality and must uncover the mind-bending mystery before it’s too late.

In the first clip, we see Monáe and her friends dining at a fancy restaurant where Gabourey Sidibe calls out the host for their segregated seating placement.

The second clip follows this scene in which Monáe appears to be kidnapped on the way home from dinner, while the third shows Monáe, back in time, debating plans to escape their enslavement.

For those seeking early thoughts, Meagan Navarro reviewed the film, writing that “Antebellum gives [an] unflinching, heavy-handed lesson in history’s horrors.”
