Sam Raimi‘s Evil Dead movies have been released on home video so many different times in so many different ways that we honestly lost track about ten years ago, but it’s nevertheless always exciting when a new release is announced. And it’s especially exciting to learn that Army of Darkness is joining The Evil Dead and Evil Dead II in the world of 4K Ultra HD.
Scream Factory‘s Jeff Nelson has spilled the beans this week that the company is working on a 4K restoration of Army of Darkness for an upcoming 4K Ultra HD release!
“We will be doing Army of Darkness early next year, which will be the first title we have done from scratch,” Nelson reveals, noting the fact that a 4K master for the film doesn’t yet exist.
