Australian Release Brings ‘Fire in the Sky’ to Blu-ray for the Very First Time

Published

Widely considered to be one of the scariest extraterrestrial horror movies ever made, 1993’s Fire in the Sky is finally being released on Blu-ray for the first time later this year.

The catch? This one is an Australian release, coming courtesy of Imprint Films. The good news? From what we gather, Imprint’s releases are actually All-Region!

Here’s everything you need to know.

Special Features and Technical Specs:

  • “Fear From Above: The Practical Effects of “Fire in the Sky”: Interviews with visual effects art director Harley Jessup & visual effects supervisor Michael Owens (2020)

In 1975, logger Travis Walton (D.B. Sweeney) and his co-workers discovered a hovering UFO. Walton’s pals fled, but Walton was not so fortunate. Whisked aboard the strange aircraft, he was subjected to a painful, unearthly medical study. Fire in the Sky is the amazing tale of that ordeal… and of the contempt and ridicule endured by the co-workers as they try to explain Walton’s mysterious disappearance.

Available for pre-order now, the limited edition Blu-ray arrives December 30.

The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.
