‘The Wolf of Snow Hollow’ Brings the Bite to Blu-ray in December

It’s been available on VOD for about a month now, and we’ve learned this week that Jim CummingsThe Wolf of Snow Hollow is next headed to DVD and Blu-ray for the holidays.

Warner Bros. brings the horror-comedy to physical media on December 15.

Special Features include the following featurettes:

  • “The Story and the Genre”
  • “The Impetus”
  • “Working with Jim Cummings”
  • “The Design of the Werewolf”

Cummings (Thunder Road) wrote and directed The Wolf of Snow Hollow and he also stars alongside Riki Lindhome (The Last House on the Left) and the late Robert Forster.

The film centers on “a small-town sheriff (Cummings), who is struggling with a failed marriage, a rebellious daughter, and a lackluster department, who is tasked with solving a series of brutal murders that are occurring on the full moon. As he’s consumed by the hunt for the killer, he struggles to remind himself that there’s no such thing as werewolves.”

Meagan wrote in her review for BD, “The Wolf of Snow Hollow brings us one small step toward a werewolf renaissance. Instead of the creature feature you’d expect, though, this darkly comedic werewolf whodunit opts for a mystery that puts its human flaws front and center.”

Brazilian Werewolf Fable ‘Good Manners’ Finally Gets Physical Media Release

One of contemporary horror’s best werewolf movies is 2017’s Good Manners, and it’s finally set to receive a proper physical media release.

Icarus Films is partnering with OCN Distribution to unleash a new Blu-ray that’s now available to preorder via Vinegar Syndrome. and with a limited edition slipcover.

Set in São Paulo, the film follows Clara, a lonely nurse from the outskirts of the city who is hired by mysterious and wealthy Ana to be the nanny of her soon to be born child. Against all odds, the two women develop a strong bond. But a fateful night marked by a full moon changes their plans.

Good Manners is the second collaboration between filmmakers Juliana Rojas and Marco Dutra, who write and direct. Zama’s Rui Poças‘ cinematography captures this unique werewolf tale described as “Disney meets Jacques Tourneur.”

Our own Trace Thurman wrote in his review, “With Good Manners, Rojas and Dutro have made one of the best werewolf movies ever made. That they are able juggle commentaries on racism and classism while still managing to tell two deeply affecting love stories is remarkable.”
