A new month is on the horizon, which means Netflix is getting set to add a whole bunch of new movies to its streaming service. Here’s what is coming on the horror/genre front.

For starters, James Wan’s Insidious and the 1990s favorite Leprechaun are joining Netflix on April 1, bringing both true terror and horror-comedy fun to the table. Additionally, the 2012 horror movie The Possession, starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan, also comes to Netflix on April 1.

On April 4, you can expect to find the new Mena Suvari-starring horror movie What Lies Below on Netflix, with the interactive adventure The Last Kids on Earth: Happy Apocalypse to You arriving just a couple days later on April 6. Netflix teases, “Help Jack and his monster-battling friends make choices to stay alive — and have some fun — in this interactive adventure!”

Guillermo del Toro’s gothic romance Crimson Peak will begin streaming on April 16, with Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead’s brand new movie Synchronic arriving on the same date. Anthony Mackie and Jamie Dornan star as two paramedics whose lives are ripped apart after they encounter a series of horrific deaths linked to a designer drug with otherworldly effects.

Netflix’s original sci-fi thriller Stowaway, starring Toni Collette, Anna Kendrick and Shamier Anderson, will make its debut on April 22, with the trailer debuting (at the link) this morning.

Another Netflix original, the series “Shadow and Bone” arrives on April 23, while the original thriller Things Heard & Seen rounds out the month’s new offerings on April 29.

‘Synchronic’

Writer in the horror community since 2008. Editor in Chief of Bloody Disgusting. Owns Eli Roth's prop corpse from Piranha 3D. Has four awesome cats. Still plays with toys.

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones. Instead, they unearth The Gate — an underground chamber of terrifying demonic evil. The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.
